Universities, colleges and academies at Bangka
There’s several universities, colleges and academies at Bangka island. They are
- Universitas Bangka Belitung
- STIE Pertiba
- STIE IBEK
- STIH Pertiba
- STMIK Atma Luhur
- STIKES Abdi Nusa
- STIKES Citra Delima
- Akbid Depati Hamzah
- Akbid Sepintu Sedulang
- Politeknik Manufaktur Timah
And there’s some others which I couldn’t remember 
.
I think it’d be a good thing if high-schooler at Bangka and Belitung islands choose to continue their education on local schools instead at Java or Sumatra schools. The money they’d spend will contribute to local economy. Also, some local schools already got “B” accreditation from Badan Akreditasi Nasional (some even on progress to “A” accreditation), so they shouldn’t worry about local company questioning their capabilities.
Of course, if they’re aiming to get best education quality, they should apply for famous universities at Java or Sumatra, or even go abroad, provided they could afford it .
PS. Almost forgot to mention Universitas Terbuka 
Visit Pangkalpinang?
Seiring dengan program Visit Babel Archi 2010, pemkot Pangkalpinang konon meluncurkan program serupa dengan label Visit Pangkalpinang 2010. Saya sendiri tidak tahu bagaimana persisnya program Visit Pangkalpinang 2010, sudah cari-cari di mbah Google tidak ada informasinya.
Ya jelas saja tidak muncul informasinya di Google, kalau website resmi pemkot Pangkalpinang tewas dengan diam-diam kok.
Masih tak ada perubahan sejak Juni 2009
Justru website tetangganya, Tampuk Pinang Pura, yang rajin diperbaharui (walaupun tetap saja saya tidak menemukan info soal Visit Pangkalpinang 2010).
Saya jadi bertanya-tanya, Visit Pangkalpinang 2010 ini serius atau tidak sih? Kenapa promosinya cuma di seputaran lokal saja (Bangka-Belitung)? Dan website resmi pemkot Pangkalpinang itu sebenarnya pangkalpinang.go.id atau tampukpinang.info ?
